Cotton T-Shirts for Kids, 1–10 Years — 230 GSM
Children's t-shirts fail in three predictable places: the neck tag, the print, and the colour after the fourth wash. These are built against all three. The care label is heat-transferred onto the fabric rather than stitched in, which is the usual reason a child calls a t-shirt itchy. Prints are cured to flex with the knit instead of sitting on top as a rigid film that cracks. Colour is matched to Delta-E < 1.5 and holds through the wash.
The cotton is the same 230 GSM combed yarn used on the men's range, which matters more for kids than adults — children's clothes are washed far more often, and a denser knit survives that cycle count without going thin at the shoulders. Sizes run 1–2Y to 9–10Y in oversized and regular fits, pre-shrunk so the size you buy is the size you keep.
Common questions
What GSM should a t-shirt be? +
For a t-shirt meant to last, 200-240 GSM is the useful band. Below 180 the fabric goes sheer and loses shape quickly; above 250 it starts behaving like a sweatshirt and gets warm for Indian weather. Every tee here is 230 GSM.
The full GSM guide →Is 230 GSM cotton good? +
It is the top of the everyday range — substantial enough to hold structure and stay opaque, still light enough to wear year-round. GSM alone is not quality though: a 240 GSM carded-cotton tee with a loose knit pills faster than a well-made 200 GSM combed one, which is why the yarn and knit are specified here too.
Why 230 GSM →How should an oversized t-shirt fit? +
The shoulder seam should sit 3-5 cm past your natural shoulder, the chest should skim with a few centimetres to pinch at each side, the hem should land between mid-fly and upper thigh, and the sleeve should end around mid-bicep. Two or more of those out in the same direction means the size is wrong rather than the cut.
How oversized should fit →What is the difference between oversized and regular fit? +
Oversized drops the shoulder seam past the shoulder and falls straight from the chest for a boxy silhouette. Regular sits on the shoulder and follows the body without tapering. Oversized needs the heavier fabric to drape rather than billow, which is why it is cut in the same 230 GSM cotton.
Oversized vs regular →Do these shrink or fade? +
They are pre-shrunk before cutting, so residual shrinkage is minimal, and colour is locked to Delta-E < 1.5 so it holds rather than drifting. Wash cold and inside out, dry in the shade, and skip the dryer - heat is what drives both shrinkage and dye loss on any cotton tee.
